Italian - mille (thousand) fiori (flowers)
The technique of millefiori glassmaking was invented by the ancient Egyptians and known to be used by Alexandrian craftsmen in the 2nd century bc. It was then developed by the Romans in the 1st century bc and revived and refined by Venetian glassmakers in the 15th century.
What is glass lampwork? Lampwork is the term used for making beads and other shapes from melting and forming glass in a flame - hundreds of years ago, the glass used to be heated over a small oil burning lamp, hence the term 'Lampwork'.
Step 1: Measure your wrist with a flexible measuring tape or a strip of paper just below the wrist bone, where you would normally wear the bracelet.
Step 2: If you are using a strip of paper, mark your size with a pen or pencil, then use a ruler to measure the length. that would be your wrist size.
Tip: Do you want a snug or loose fit? That really will vary between each individual. If you are buying a delicate bracelet with a thing chain, we suggest doing a more snug fit. Most other bracelets should have a comfort fit except when buying large or thick cuffs or bangles. It is best to buy large bracelets with a more loose fit.
Add to wrist size: Snug Fit = Add 1/4" to 1/2"
Comfort Fit = Add 3/4" to 1"
Loose Fit = Add 1 1/4"
